If you’re lucky enough to have reasonably problem-free skin, thinking about a skincare regime may not be at the top of your beauty to-do list. It can also be hard to know where to begin if you’re relatively new to all of this.
An article for Refinery29 recently highlighted the importance of having a good skincare regime that takes care of the basics, and protects your skin in the process.
Top of the list is cleansing, with the news provider noting that you should do a double cleanse if you live in a city or wear makeup (or both). The first should remove your makeup, and the second cleanse will clean all the grime out of your pores.
Next up is exfoliation, which the website recommends doing twice a week. This helps remove the build-up of dead skin cells on your face, and if you wear sunscreen or makeup your skin will need a little help with its natural cycle.
Protection is the final thing to consider. First and foremost, that means wearing a good SPF every day, as well as an antioxidant. “Even small, mild amounts of sun add up over time to spell trouble for your skin, so invest in good sunblock now,” the site asserted.
Of course, every now and then we want to give our skin a bit more of a boost than what our daily routine offers, and this is where the likes of HIFU treatments in the UK can be invaluable.
HIFU, which stands for high intensity focused ultrasound, is a non-invasive way to rejuvenate and lift the skin, which means it’s a great option if you’re hoping to invigorate your complexion and just make your skin look a bit brighter.
